Therapy Session
Do you accept insurance?

I do not work with insurance companies and am considered an out-of-network provider. I can provide you with a superbill. A superbill is a document insurance companies will need when seeking reimbursement for out-of-network services. If you're unsure if your health insurance provides reimburses for out-of-network services, I'd suggest contacting their customer service/behavioral health line and asking.  Below are some questions to consider:

  • Do you reimburse for out-of-network psychotherapy services?

  • If so, what are the reimbursement rates for the following Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes?:

    • 90971 Initial Diagnostic Evaluation

    • 90971GT Teletherapy, Initial Diagnostic Evaluation

    • 90837 Psychotherapy (≥ 53 minutes)

    • 90837GT Teletherapy, Psychotherapy (≥ 53 minutes)

  • Do you reimburse for any of the following diagnoses?:

    • F40 Phobic Anxiety Disorder

    • F40.11 Social Phobia

    • F41.0 Panic Disorder

    • F41.1 Generalized Anxiety Disorder

    • F42.2 Obsessive-compulsive Disorder

    • F42.4 Excoriation (skin-picking) Disorder

    • F45.21 Hypochondriasis (Illness-anxiety Disorder)

    • F63.3 Trichotillomania (hair-pulling)

  • Do I have a deductible?

  • Is there a limit to how much can be reimbursed i.e. Am I limited to a max number of sessions?

  • Is teletherapy reimbursed?

Do you have a cancellation/no-show policy?

Yes. The cancellation policy is 24 hours. For any cancellations less than 24 hours, along with no-shows, the full session rate will be charged.

What is your fee?

My fee is $200 per 50-minute session. There is no cost difference between teletherapy and in-person appointments.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Most cards (credit/debit/HSA) with a major credit card logo are accepted i.e. Visa, Mastercard, American Express. Payment is due at the time of service. If needing to make alternative payment arrangements, please contact me.

Can I speak with you prior to scheduling an appointment?

Yes. I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation.

What is your availability?

I am typically available Monday through Saturday for appointments. In-person appointments are available on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

What platform do you use for online appointments?

I typically use Zoom with a HIPPA-Compliant Business Associate Agreement. Other options include What's App, Psychology Today Sessions, and telephone.

I don't live in California, can I still schedule an appointment?

The short answer is, it depends. Each jurisdiction is unique. If you reside outside of California please reach out to me directly

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.
